More and more weddings have a theme: a royal Rajasthani palace look, a garden full of flowers, a Vrindavan-inspired mehndi. When the décor, the invitations and the guests' dress code all follow one idea, the bride's outfit can carry it too. A theme lehenga brings the theme into the embroidery, so you look like the heart of the celebration, not a guest at it.
Popular themes and how they translate
Rajasthani / royal
Elephants, palace arches (jharokhas), camels, marigolds and gota patti on rich reds, oranges and pinks. See elephant motif lehenga.
Garden / floral
Climbing flowers, trees, birds and butterflies in thread work on pastel or ivory. Perfect for day weddings and mehndis.
Vrindavan / Radha Krishna
Peacocks, cows, kadamba trees, lotus ponds and the divine couple. Read Radha Krishna theme lehenga and pichwai bridal lehenga.
Peacock
Teal, emerald and gold, with dancing peacocks or feather patterns. See peacock theme bridal lehenga.
Lotus / spiritual
Lotus ponds and soft colours for a calm, temple-like mood. See lotus motif lehenga.
Punjabi folk
Phulkari colours and patterns for the jaggo and the mehndi. Read phulkari lehenga for wedding.
Kashmir / mountain
Chinar leaves and paisleys in tilla and aari work. See Kashmiri lehenga bridal.
Keep it bridal
The theme lives in the motifs, not in costume. A Rajasthani theme does not mean dressing as a folk dancer; it means Rajasthani motifs on a bridal lehenga.
Pick two or three motifs, not ten.
Use richer work than the décor. The bride should stand out from the theme, not blend into the backdrop.
Check your colours against the stage. A lehenga the same colour as the flowers behind you disappears in photos.
A different theme for each function
Many weddings now have one theme per function: garden for the mehndi, Bollywood for the sangeet, royal for the wedding. We can design a whole wardrobe that follows them. Read custom bridal outfits.
How to order
Share your theme, the invitation or the décor mood board, and any outfit pictures you like. Our designer draws a lehenga that carries the theme and shows you the price before anything is cut. Payment is in full in advance, our own karigars make it to your measurements, and the designer gives you a delivery date once the design is approved.
