Bridal Lehenga Customisation in Gurugram: What You Can Change, What It Costs and How Long It Takes

Brown bridal lehenga with sequin work and net dupatta at House of Daisy, Gurugram

Almost every bride in Gurugram has the same moment. You find a lehenga you nearly love — the colour is right but the sleeves aren't, or the work is beautiful but a little too heavy for a day wedding. Bridal lehenga customisation is how you close that gap. This guide explains what can be changed, how the price is worked out, how long it takes, and how it works for brides from every part of Gurugram.

What does bridal lehenga customisation in Gurugram include?

At House of Daisy, customisation means one of two things — and you can choose either:

  • Changing a lehenga you already love. You've seen a piece on our website or in our showroom that is almost perfect. Very often a designer can change it for you.

  • Designing a lehenga from the beginning. You bring your ideas, a designer sketches them with you, and the lehenga is made for you from the first cut.

What you can change on a lehenga

These are the changes brides ask us for most often:

  • The colour — the same lehenga in a deeper red, a softer pastel or a shade that suits your function and venue.

  • The level of work — more sparkle for an evening wedding, or lighter work so you can move and dance comfortably.

  • The sleeves — sleeveless, cap, elbow-length or full.

  • The neckline — at the front and at the back of the blouse.

  • Your measurements — every custom piece is cut to your own numbers, so there is no "between two sizes".

When you design from the beginning, you also choose the silhouette, the fabric, the zardozi and threadwork, and how the dupatta falls. Our guide to designing your own bridal lehenga walks through each of those choices.

How much does a customised bridal lehenga cost?

The honest answer is: it depends on the fabric, the amount of work and the size of the change. What we can promise is how the price is set:

  • Every piece on our website and in our showroom shows its price — always, never behind an enquiry form.

  • When you ask for a change, a designer prices it for you before anything starts — often while you are still sitting with us.

  • Tell us your budget at the start, and the pieces we show you will be in your range. You are not shown the expensive ones first.

Payment is made in full when you order, and the price is agreed with you before then. There are no surprises at the fitting.

How long does customisation take?

A made-to-order lehenga takes about eight weeks from the moment you approve the design. During that time we send you photographs at every stage, and before the lehenga is packed you see the finished piece on a model over a video call. You then have a final fitting before your day, and alterations at your fitting in Gurugram are included.

That is why we suggest coming to us a few months before the wedding. If your date is closer, tell us — we'll say plainly what can be done, and our ready pieces can be with you in days. Our bridal shopping timeline helps you plan backwards from your date.

Who makes your customised lehenga?

A piece we make for you is cut and embroidered by our own karigars in our own workroom — the same atelier and the same hands behind the designer label Bhumika Sehgal. If you'd like to see the kind of work they do, look at our Durga Puja Edit: every one of those pieces was made in our atelier.

Customisation for brides across Gurugram

Our showroom is on Golf Course Road, in DT Mega Mall, and brides come to us from all over the city — DLF Phases 1 to 5, Sushant Lok, South City, Sohna Road, Golf Course Extension Road, Nirvana Country, New Gurugram and along the Dwarka Expressway. Whichever part of Gurugram you live in, there are three ways to work with us:

  1. Walk in. We are open every day from 11:00 to 21:00. A styling session costs nothing, whether you buy or not.

  2. Book a fitting. Choose a showroom visit or a video consultation on our booking page, and we confirm on WhatsApp.

  3. Start on video. A free 30-minute video consultation with a designer, from home — useful if your family is in another city and wants to be part of it.

Measurements can be taken by your own tailor (our sheet is in Hindi and English), with our step-by-step measurement guide, or at a 45-minute measurement visit in the showroom. Whichever you choose, a designer checks every number with you before anything is cut.

Questions brides in Gurugram ask us

Can I customise a lehenga I saw online somewhere else?

Bring the picture. A designer can talk you through a lehenga in the same spirit — the silhouette, the colour, the feeling — made for you in our atelier, and price it before anything starts. Our post on custom blouse designs and customising a lehenga you saw online has more.

Can I return a customised lehenga?

A piece made to your measurements can't be returned, because the fabric, the embroidery and the fit are approved together with you at every stage. Ready pieces in standard sizes have their own returns window — see our returns page.

Do you only customise bridal lehengas?

No. Brides often customise their reception gown, their sangeet outfit or a saree for their mother at the same time. Read about reception lehengas and gowns or outfits for bridesmaids and the mother of the bride.
