Custom Blouse Designs for Your Bridal Lehenga — and Customising a Lehenga You Saw Online

White chanderi saree with a red brocade blouse from House of Daisy

Ask any bride what she changed about her lehenga and the answer is usually the blouse. It sits closest to you, it is in every close-up photograph, and it is where a beautiful lehenga becomes your lehenga. Here is how custom blouse design works at House of Daisy — and what to do if you have fallen for a lehenga you saw online.

What you can change on a bridal blouse

  • The neckline — sweetheart, V, square, high neck, boat neck, off-shoulder.

  • The sleeves — sleeveless, cap, elbow-length, full sleeves for a winter wedding, sheer sleeves with a little sparkle.

  • The back — a deep back, a keyhole, tie-ups with tassels (latkans), or a fully covered back if that is what feels like you.

  • The length and shape — a short choli, a longer crop top, a corset-inspired fit, a cape or a jacket on top.

  • The work — how much embroidery, where it sits, and how it echoes the lehenga.

Choosing a blouse that suits your day

A few questions our designers will ask, because they make all the difference:

  • How long will you wear it? For a long ceremony, comfort matters more than anything — we'll talk about necklines and sleeves that stay put.

  • Will your dupatta be on your head? Then the back of the blouse may be seen less, and the front and sleeves deserve the attention.

  • What jewellery are you wearing? A heavy necklace looks best with a neckline that gives it room.

  • Indoors or outdoors, day or night? It changes the fabric and the sleeves we'd suggest.

Can you customise a lehenga you saw online?

If it is one of ours: very often, yes. The colour, the level of work, the sleeves and the neckline can usually change, and a designer prices the change for you before anything starts. Send us the link on WhatsApp, or bring it to the showroom.

If it is a look you saw somewhere else, bring the picture anyway. We won't copy another designer's piece, but we can design something for you that captures what you loved about it — the colour story, the silhouette, the feeling — and make it your own.

Designing your own bridal lehenga, from the beginning

Some brides want a blouse change; others want the whole outfit to start from a blank page. Either way, the process is the same: a designer sketches it with you, you choose the fabric and the work, you see the price before you commit, and every measurement is checked with you on a short video call before anything is cut. A made-to-order piece takes about eight weeks from design approval, with photographs at every stage.

Our bridal customisation guide walks through it step by step, and our notes on made-to-measure bridal lehengas cover measurements and fittings.

Little blouse details brides love

  • Latkans on the back tie-up that match the lehenga's embroidery.

  • Sheer sleeves with scattered sequins for an evening reception.

  • A contrast blouse — like a red brocade blouse with an ivory saree — for a look that feels both classic and new.

  • A blouse you can wear again with another saree after the wedding.
