A lehenga cut to your own measurements feels different the moment you put it on. It sits where it should, moves the way you do, and lets you forget about the outfit and simply enjoy your day. If you are thinking about a made-to-measure bridal lehenga in Gurgaon, here is exactly how it works at House of Daisy — the measurements, the timeline and the fittings.
Made to measure or ready to wear?
A ready piece comes in standard sizes. If you are between two sizes — most of us are, and that is completely normal — we suggest the closer size and a small alteration. Ready pieces can be with you in days.
A made-to-measure piece is cut to your own numbers, so there is no "between" at all. It can also be changed — colour, work, sleeves, neckline — or designed from the beginning with a designer.
How your measurements are taken
There are three ways, and you choose:
Your own tailor fills in our measurement sheet — in Hindi and English.
You measure yourself with our step-by-step guide.
You come to the showroom on Golf Course Road for a measurement visit of about 45 minutes.
Whichever you pick, a designer goes through every number with you on a short video call. Nothing is cut before that. Our size guide is a good place to start.
How long does a made-to-order lehenga take?
About eight weeks from the moment you approve the design. During that time we send you photographs at every stage, so you can watch your lehenga come to life — and before it is packed, you see the finished piece on a model over a video call.
If your wedding is closer than that, tell us. We'll say plainly what can be done, and our ready pieces are always an option.
How many fittings will you need?
Because every number is checked with you before cutting, a made-to-measure piece needs far less fixing than you might expect. You have a final fitting before your day, and alterations at your fitting in Gurugram are included. For anything else, ask us before you order — we tell you what an alteration will cost before we start.
A simple timeline for brides
First visit or video call — talk through your functions, your date and your ideas; try silhouettes on.
Design approved — fabric, work, price and measurements agreed together.
About eight weeks of making — with photographs along the way.
Video call with the finished piece — before it is packed.
Final fitting — in the showroom, before your day.
That is why it helps to begin a few months before the wedding: there is time to design without rushing and to fit without worrying.
Who makes your lehenga
Our own karigars cut and embroider made-to-order pieces in our own workroom — the same atelier and the same hands behind the designer label Bhumika Sehgal. Ask when you visit and we'll show you where your piece is made.
Good to know before you order
Payment is made in full when you order, and the price is agreed with you before anything starts.
A piece made to your measurements can't be returned, because the fabric, the embroidery and the fit are approved together with you at every stage.
Shipping within India is free, and we ship worldwide with the freight quoted before you order.
