What decides the price of a custom bridal lehenga?
Three things: the fabric, the embroidery and the hours of work. A piece we make to order is designed and made by our own in-house designers and karigars, hand-embroidered in our atelier and made to your measurements. So when you ask what you are actually paying for, it is this:
- The fabric you choose
- How much embroidery there is, and what kind
- The hours of handwork in our atelier
- A design made from your idea, with a sketch for your approval
- An embroidery sample you see before the whole piece is made
- A fit made to your measurements, with any changes needed at the trial made before delivery
When will I know the exact price?
After the sketch. You share your idea at the free consultation, the designer shares a sketch for your approval, and then quotes, before any work starts. Nothing is made until you know what it costs.
What does a custom lehenga look like at ₹75,000, ₹1 lakh or ₹2 lakh?
We will not tell you a number is or is not enough, because it depends on what you want. What changes as the budget changes is the fabric, and the amount and kind of embroidery. A larger budget can carry richer fabric and denser, more detailed work; a smaller one is planned around the details that matter most to you. Tell the designer your number at the consultation, and the design is shaped around it before the quote.
How do I keep a custom lehenga within budget and still make it look rich?
You choose every part one by one, which is exactly where you keep control:
- Place the embroidery with care. A lighter lehenga with the work where it shows, on the blouse, the border and the dupatta, can look full and rich.
- Let colour do some of the work. A contrast dupatta adds drama without adding more embroidery.
- Pick the fabric to suit the work. Ask the designer which fabric carries your embroidery well.
- Add one personal detail. Your names or your wedding date on the dupatta or blouse back makes the piece yours, whatever the scale.
How much more does extra embroidery add?
More embroidery means more hours of handwork, so it moves the price, and so does the kind of work. The clearest way to see the difference is to ask the designer to talk you through it at the consultation; the quote after the sketch reflects exactly what you chose.
How should I budget for all my outfits, roka to reception?
We make your outfits for every function: roka, engagement, haldi, mehendi, sangeet, cocktail, chooda, phera and reception, as lehengas, shararas or gowns. A custom reception gown or a custom bridal blouse is priced the same way as a lehenga, on its fabric, embroidery and hours of work, and quoted after the sketch. A few planning tips:
- Decide which outfit is your heaviest, usually the wedding lehenga, and plan the rest around it.
- Keep daytime functions lighter, so the budget goes where the photographs and the stage lights are.
- Plan everything together. You and your mother, or the whole bride's side, can plan all your outfits in one consultation.
