Gurgaon Brides: A Practical Guide to Planning Your Wedding Outfits

Black Crop Top Lehenga from House of Daisy

Gurgaon brides have a lot of choice and very little time. Between work, guest lists and venue visits, the outfits often get planned last, and in a hurry. This guide sets out a simple order for getting every look made, from the roka to the reception, without last-minute stress.

Start with the list of functions

Before you look at a single lehenga, write down every function, its date, whether it is indoors or out, and whether it is by day or in the evening. Many families now have six or seven: roka or engagement, mehndi, haldi, sangeet, cocktail, wedding and reception. Each needs a different weight and colour. Our guide to a dress for every wedding function helps you plan the full set so no two looks repeat.

Give yourself time

A made-to-measure bridal lehenga cannot be rushed. The designer gives a delivery date once the design is approved, and that date depends on how much embroidery the design carries. Start early, especially if you also want outfits for your mother, sisters or bridesmaids. Our bridal shopping timeline sets out when to begin each step.

What a Gurgaon bride can have made with us

House of Daisy is a made-to-measure bridal and occasion-wear studio on the 2nd floor of DT Mega Mall on Golf Course Road. Everything is customised to you:

  • Bridal lehengas designed from your references, embroidered by our karigars, including names, dates and motifs.

  • Sarees whose embroidery and border are planned with you, with the blouse stitched to your measurements.

  • Reworking your own saree, such as your mother's, into a lehenga, dupatta or blouse.

  • Gowns and Indo-western sets for the cocktail or reception.

  • Suits, anarkalis and shararas for the mehndi and the days after the wedding.

For how the process works from first sketch to fitting, read made-to-measure bridal lehenga in Gurgaon.

Gurgaon bridal: what to bring to your first visit

  • Pictures you love: a Pinterest board, screenshots, a sketch, even an AI image.

  • Your list of functions, with dates and settings.

  • Any family pieces you want to use: a saree, a dupatta, or the jewellery you plan to wear, so colours can be matched.

  • Ideas for personal details: names, the wedding date, a motif that means something to your family.

  • A family member whose opinion matters, if you want one there.

You do not need a finished idea. Many brides arrive with a handful of screenshots that do not agree with each other, and the first conversation is about finding the thread that runs through them.

Planning your colours

Lay out the colours of every function side by side before you approve any single design. A red wedding lehenga, a pastel mehndi look and a deep jewel-toned reception gown tell a clear story in the album. Two similar pinks on consecutive days do not. Your designer can sketch the full colour plan with you on the first visit.

Trials and fittings

Because the store is in Gurgaon, a local bride can come in for a trial, with alterations made after it. Plan the trial well before the first function so there is time for changes. Wear or bring the shoes you will wear on the day, so hem lengths come out right. More on what to expect: bridal lehenga trial.

Dressing the family

Many Gurgaon brides plan outfits for the bride squad, sisters and both mothers alongside their own. We take group orders, with each piece made to its wearer's measurements and coordinated in colour so the family photographs as one. Relatives abroad can join by video call and have their outfits shipped; they pay their own country's customs duty and import taxes when the parcel arrives.
