If you were looking for a dt mega mall fabric shop

We are a made-to-measure studio rather than a fabric counter. Fabric is part of the design conversation: our designer shows you options for the base, the lining and the dupatta, and explains how each one drapes, how heavy it feels and how it behaves in the season of your function. Silk, georgette, organza, net, velvet, satin, chanderi and cotton are all common choices.

If you already own a beautiful saree you want to use, bring it. We can rework your own saree into a lehenga, a dupatta, a border or a blouse, or restore it so you can wear it as it is. Read old saree to lehenga for how that works.

Choosing for the occasion

• Day events and pujas: cotton, chanderi and light silks, pastel or bright, with thread or chikankari work.

• Mehndi and haldi: something you can sit cross-legged in and that can take a little colour on the hem. Shararas and light lehengas work well.

• Sangeet: movement matters. A skirt that swings, or a dhoti set you can dance in.

• Cocktail and reception: gowns, short dresses, saree drapes or a sleek lehenga, often in deeper or metallic shades.

• Winter evenings: velvet, or a cape or jacket layer planned into the outfit.

Why made to measure, even for party wear

It is tempting to think only a bridal outfit needs to be made to measure. In practice, party and Indo-western pieces depend on fit even more. A dhoti-style set only looks sharp when the drape sits at the right point on the hip. A short cocktail dress needs the hem in exactly the right place. A cape has to sit on your shoulders without slipping, and a co-ord set looks expensive only when both pieces are cut to the same proportions. When the outfit is made for you, these details are planned at the design stage rather than fixed afterwards, and you can choose the length, sleeve and neckline you are comfortable in.

2. Bring references: photos, a Pinterest board, a sketch, or a screenshot of something you saw.

3. Share the function, the date and roughly how you want to feel in it.

4. Bring the shoes you will wear if you have them; hems are planned around them.

How it works

Our designer plans the design with you and takes your measurements at the store. The designer shows you the price before anything is cut, and payment is in full in advance. Our karigars embroider it, and you get a delivery date once the design is approved; it depends on how much work the design needs, so starting early gives you more room.
