Latest wedding outfit trends, each with a "wear it if" note

The latest wedding outfit trends are easier to choose from when you know who each one is for. Below is a quick list of the directions families are asking about this season, each with a short "wear it if" note, so you can find yours in a few minutes. At House of Daisy, our showroom on Golf Course Road, Gurugram, we help every woman in the family, from a college-going cousin to a grandmother, pick the trend that suits her day.

Which lehenga trends are worth knowing?

  • Crop-top lehenga. Wear it if you plan to dance and want a light, modern shape. Ready crop-top lehengas come with a dupatta you can leave off.
  • Lehenga-saree. Wear it if you love the look of a saree but do not want to re-pin a pallu all evening.
  • Jacket or cape lehenga. Wear it if your functions are in winter or you prefer covered arms. Some are ready, and any style can be made to order.
  • Multicolour lehenga. Wear it if you are going to the mehndi or sangeet and want something joyful.

Which saree trends are worth knowing?

  • Organza and tissue sarees. Wear one if your function is in the day and you want something light that still catches the eye.
  • Pre-draped sarees. Wear one if you are hosting, dancing or new to draping.
  • Saree with a belt or jacket. Wear it if you want to rewear a saree you already have and make it look new. A belt, jacket, cape or shrug can be made to order to match a saree bought from us.
  • Silk with a bold border. Wear it if you want something classic for the pheras.

Which suit and sharara trends are worth knowing?

  • Long kurta with flared pants. Wear it if you want comfort for a long day and plan to wear it again.
  • Sharara with a short kurta. Wear it if you want swing and movement for the mehndi.
  • Lehenga suit. Wear it if you like the volume of a lehenga with more coverage on top.
  • Full-sleeve suit. Wear it if your wedding is in winter and you want an elegant evening look.

Which gown and indo-western trends are worth knowing?

  • Anarkali gown. Wear it if you want one easy piece for the reception.
  • Cape set. Wear it if you want something dramatic for a cocktail night.
  • Draped gown with hand-work. Wear it if you like western cuts with an Indian finish. Mermaid, off-shoulder and ball-gown shapes can be made to order with our hand-work.

How do you choose just one?

Ask yourself three questions: what will you be doing at the function (sitting, hosting, dancing), what time of day is it, and what do you already own? The answer usually narrows the list to two. If several women in your family are choosing together, keep one shared palette and let each woman pick her own shape. Our guide to family outfits for the bride's side explains how.

Ready or made to order?

Ready pieces suit a close date and can be altered at the showroom, often within about a week. Ask us on WhatsApp what is in the showroom now. Made to order suits a particular colour, fit or embroidery: the first design consultation is free, you approve a sketch and an embroidery sample. Pieces we make to order are made to your measurements and hand-embroidered in our atelier. Order a single festive outfit three to four weeks ahead; for family orders, start about four weeks before the first function for lighter work and about eight weeks for heavy hand embroidery.

Our showroom is at Shop 226A, 2nd Floor, DT Mega Mall, Golf Course Road, DLF Phase 1, Sector 28, Gurugram, open every day from 11 AM to 9 PM.

Common questions

Which trend is easiest for a first-time saree wearer?

A pre-draped saree or a lehenga-saree. Both give you the look without pleating and pinning.

Can I follow a trend and still be comfortable?

Yes. Choose the trend for its shape, then ask for a lighter fabric, a softer lining or a lighter flare.

Can a trend piece be made in my size?

Yes. Ready suits, anarkalis, gowns and blouses come up to 5XL and beyond, and any size can be made to measure.

Can I bring a picture I like?

Yes, as inspiration. Our designers create our own version from it.

What if my wedding is only two weeks away?

Choose a ready piece. We do not take rush made-to-order work, but ready pieces can be altered.

Mujhe kaunsa trend choose karna chahiye?

Pehle socho function mein kya karogi: baithna, host karna ya dance. Usi hisaab se do-teen options mein se chuno.
