Indian Designer Clothes UK: Your Wedding Outfit Designed in India

Elegant Pink Net Saree from House of Daisy

Looking for Indian designer clothes in the UK often starts with the shops on your local high street and ends with a question: could the outfit be designed in India instead? For many British Asian brides, that is exactly what they want: an outfit drawn for them, embroidered by karigars, and made to their measurements. House of Daisy is an independent Indian designer label from Gurugram. We have no shop in Britain; we work with UK brides by video call and WhatsApp and ship worldwide.

A different route from the high street

Searching indian designers in UK or indian designers London brings up a mix of shops, stockists and studios. We are not one of them, and this guide does not list or compare anyone. It explains the alternative: working directly with a designer in India from your sofa in Leicester, Birmingham, Manchester or London. The design starts from your references and your family, not from what happens to be on a rail, and every piece is made to measure.

The time difference is on your side

The UK is only a few hours behind India, which makes it one of the easiest places to plan an outfit from. A morning call in Britain lands in the Indian afternoon, so you can talk to the designer before work or on a Saturday morning without anyone staying up late. Keep a single WhatsApp chat for the outfit, send references and voice notes as they come to you, and save the bigger decisions for calls.

Planning for British weather

Even a July wedding in Britain can turn cool by evening, and many receptions are in marquees, hotel function rooms or banqueting halls where the temperature varies a lot from one end to the other. A few ideas that help:

  • Sleeves: three-quarter or full sleeves on the blouse are elegant and warmer for an outdoor ceremony or photographs in the garden.

  • A second dupatta: a heavier, shawl-style dupatta for arriving and outdoor photographs, and a lighter one for dancing indoors.

  • Fabric: raw silk and velvet suit an autumn or winter wedding; organza and georgette suit a warm summer afternoon.

  • Rain: a hem that clears the ground slightly is easier on wet grass than a long trail.

Punjabi, Sikh and Gujarati weddings in Britain

Many UK weddings are Punjabi, Sikh or Gujarati, and families often have strong traditions about colour and garment. We make Punjabi bridal lehengas with a short or long kurti and phulkari, outfits for a Sikh Anand Karaj, Gujarati bridal wear, Muslim bridal wear for the nikah, rukhsati and walima, and fusion outfits for couples bringing two cultures together. See our guides to the Punjabi bridal lehenga with a short kurti and the Anand Karaj bridal lehenga. For the laavan or any sacred text on your chunni, confirm the exact words with your granthi or family elder first; it goes on the dupatta, never the hem.

Indian designer wear UK online: fit and delivery

Ordering indian designer wear UK online with us is about conversation rather than size charts. Our designer, Bhumika Sehgal, guides you through your measurements on a video call, and we leave extra margin in the seams so a tailor near you in Britain can make final adjustments. If you are visiting family in India before the wedding, you can have a trial at our Golf Course Road store in Gurugram, with alterations, and we show you how to drape the dupatta. Our made-to-measure lehenga for UK brides post covers fit in detail.

We ship to the UK. When the parcel arrives, you pay UK import duty and VAT; we do not. These rules change and depend on things such as the declared value and the type of garment, so check the UK government's customs guidance before ordering. Read more in lehenga international shipping. If you plan several outfits for the family, our guide to Indian designer wedding outfits helps plan them together.
