Customised Bridal Latkan

Customised Latkans for Your Lehenga: Name Latkans and Bridal Tassels

Hot pink lehenga from House of Daisy

Latkans are the little tassels that hang from your blouse tie-up and the dori of your lehenga. They swing when you walk, they show up in every photo taken from behind, and they are one of the easiest places to add something personal. Our karigars make customised latkans to match the lehenga they belong to, including latkans with your names.

Where latkans go

  • The blouse tie-up, at the back. This is where most people notice them.

  • The lehenga dori, at the waist, peeping out below the blouse.

  • The dupatta corners, to weigh the dupatta down so it falls neatly.

  • A potli bag, so it matches the rest of the outfit.

Styles brides choose

Name latkans

Small embroidered discs or plaques with your names, your initials or the wedding date, one on each tassel. A sweet detail for the walk to the mandap.

Matching latkans

Latkans worked in the same embroidery as your lehenga: the same zari, the same motifs, the same colours. They make the outfit look finished.

Shaped latkans

Little bells, moons, hearts, flowers, mangoes or a pair of birds.

Statement latkans

Longer, heavier tassels with beads, pearls or mirrors, for a backless blouse or a reception look.

Family latkans

A tiny piece of a family saree or fabric covered in a latkan, so something of your mother's or grandmother's travels with you.

Getting the details right

  • Weight. Heavy latkans look beautiful but pull on the blouse. The designer balances size and weight against your blouse fabric.

  • Length. Long latkans can tangle in your jewellery or your dupatta; we check the length against your look.

  • Spelling and script. For name latkans, check the sketch carefully. Embroidered letters are hard to change later.

  • Matching sets. Bridesmaids, sisters and mothers often love matching latkans with their own initials. Our family orders page explains how group orders work.

Pairing latkans with a name dupatta

Name latkans and a name dupatta work well together: the dupatta carries the full wording, the latkans carry your initials. Read our guide to bridal dupattas with names, and for more personal touches see 25 customised lehenga ideas.

What decides the price

The price depends on the number of latkans, their size, the embroidery and materials, and whether they're part of a new customised lehenga. Our designer gives you a clear price once the design is agreed.

How to order

  1. WhatsApp us the names or initials, photos of your lehenga and blouse, and your wedding date.

  2. Meet a designer at our Golf Course Road showroom, or on a free 30-minute video call.

  3. Approve the sketch and the price.

  4. Our karigars make them by hand, matched to your outfit.

If the latkans are part of a new customised lehenga, they are made with the outfit, which takes about eight weeks from design approval. On their own, the designer will tell you the timeline when the design is agreed.
